Maddy is 9! WHAT?!?!

We moved to Utah two weeks before her birthday, so we had a surprise
party at Chuck-e-cheese before we left.  She was totally shocked and super excited.

Long awaited...

Oh where to begin!  We've had a whirlwind of a summer.  In May we packed up our house in Colorado to move to Utah.  Spencer was offered a job at the Utah State Hospital, which we were all ecstatic about.  We've all wanted to get back to Utah eventually.  The day before we moved, Spencer got a call from the VA in phoenix about a job.  He interviewed, and then 3 weeks later got a job offer from them.  They said the hiring process was 2-4 months.  We decided to stay in Utah for the summer so he could still work.  It was a fun summer as you can see below.  Pretty much a 2 month vacation.  We started to get close to school starting and still didn't have any word on a start date for his job in Phoenix so we decided I'd move down with the kids to get them settled in school and hopefully Spence wouldn't be far  behind.  Here are just a few of our highlights....
Feeding the ducks at the lake behind Sunny's house.

We pretty much lived at Trafalga.  The kids were obsessed with the frog hopper and laser tag.

We got to celebrate Parker's 5th birthday and Dylan's 6 3/4 birthday!

We reconnected with our old friends, Justin & Cecile.  We spent lots of time with these guys and our kids found new best friends.

Spence rode the Triple Bypass with Shawn.  120 miles in freezing cold, wet weather.
So worth it in the end.

Only Spence can explain what he was actually feeling in this picture.  I'm sure it was something like, what was I thinking, I want a warm blanket... something along those lines.

By far my favorite part of the summer was reconnecting with Emily.
It's been over 13 years since I've hung out with Em.  It was just like old times.

Ryan and Parker became BFF's during the 2 months that we lived there.

We hung out with the Cramer's at their Ranch in Smoot, Wyoming.
We took the kiddos to their first rodeo.  They loved every minute of it.
We shot crazy guns, and rode 4-wheelers.
Pretty much their favorite part of the summer.

I had lunch with a bunch of friends from high school after Misty's funeral (which I will blog about later).  It was a sad reason to all get together, but it was good to see them none the less.

The summer of 2012 was the summer of fires.  Colorado and Utah were in flames pretty much the whole summer.  This one in Colorado Springs was devastating.
So many people lost their homes.  So tragic.

We enjoyed some time with the Mehl's at Wheeler Farm.

Sunny, Henny, Kelly and Ollie joining us for a water sliding day.

DISCO BOWL!  How can you not love to disco bowl.

Ryan's bum.

Doug, Melissa and Brendon at one of the many water slide parties.

Cecile braved it with her kiddos.

Amy McDonald (Emily's little sister) even joined us.  She is still 5 years old to me.

Spence took ALL the kids on a 4-wheeler ride at Grandma Suzie's house.

Madds and Kass swimming at Las Palmas.

Ollie being Ollie
Lille, enjoying Sunny and Kelly's house.
We are now in Phoenix with a pool and LOVING every second of it!

And finally school....  They started at Mabel Padgett.  Maddy is in 4th grade and has Mrs.Voigt.  Talan is in 1st and has Mrs. Brimmer.  Ryan is in pre-school with Mrs. Jen.  They are all super happy to be settled.  Now hopefully Dad can get here soon!
