New Year's Eve 2011

Corey and Julie offered to watch our kiddos for New Year's Eve, so Spence surprised me and booked us a room in Denver and invited Ryan and Sara to come spend the New Year with us. We did lots of shopping, watched fireworks from our hotel room at 9:00, and then hung out on 16th street to ring in the New Year. The next day he woke me up early and we went snowboarding. It was such a fun birthday. I LOVE surprises so this year was especially fun!

Scariest moment of our lives.... for real.

A simple knee surgery turned into the scariest moment of our lives.

After knee surgery Spencer felt great. Then a couple hours later......

he thought he was dying, literally. He started coughing up blood about 3 hours after we came home from his same day knee surgery. He couldn't stand up so I had to call my neighbor to help me carry him to the car (we are too poor to call an ambulance!) He ended up in the ICU for 2 days with what they thought was pulmonary edema, later to find out they have NO IDEA what it was. They did tests on him for days and couldn't come up with anything. Luckily he is young and healthy and is back to normal! The worst part for him was not being able to ride his bike for a month.

1. He almost never complains.

2. He only wants to wear "cool" shirts with some kind of lego, harry potter or superhero guy.

3. He thinks of others feelings.

4. He is an awesome lego builder and could play with them for hours.

5. He is so good at soccer.

6. He is willing to sleep with Maddy even though he prefers to sleep in his own bed.

7. He loves Justin Bieber.

8. He looks up to his big sister and would do anything for her.

9. He is still willing to give us "Tally time".

10. All the girls at school love him!

The water slide was by far the best summer activity! We had many good days and nights on this beauty. Spence has shown us lots of different ways to slide down (and in spandex).

After 2 months of having the water slide Ryan goes down by himself for the first time!

I had to kick everyone off and go with him over and over for a half an hour for him to try it. Totally worth it!
